NAPO Oregon Members Help Cedar Mills Library Get Organized, January 2007
Professional Organizers Making a Difference at Cedar Mills Library
In January 2007, members of the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO) Oregon Chapter will volunteered their time at the Cedar Mills Library Second Edition Shop and the Cedar Mills Library. This effort was a local extension of the NAPO's national "GO (Get Organized) Month" project. NAPO Chapters all over the country participate in GO Month to raise awareness of the benefits of getting organized and of hiring a NAPO Organizer.
Oregon NAPO members lent their expertise and hands-on teamwork for two projects at the Library. The receiving room of the Second Edition Retail Shop will receive a makeover , and a panel of NAPO Oregon members presented two public workshops, entitled "Ask the Organizer" Panel.

GO Month (Get Organized Month) -- January 2005
2005 Get Organized (GO!) Month Contest
In conjunction with the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO)'s first Get Organized Month in January 2005, the Oregon Chapter of NAPO sponsored a Get Organized (GO!) Month Contest. In February, the winner was announced and received 3 full days of organizing services from members of the NAPO Oregon Chapter.
The winner also received products and services from our co-sponsors Storables and 1-800-GOT- JUNK. 17 NAPO Oregon members volunteered 170 hours of organizing time in the winner's home. The two Contest "runners-up" received organizing Needs Assessments from NAPO Oregon members Megan Spears and Barbara George. Our 2005 GO! Month Contest Committee Chairpersons were Ellen Damaschino, Cynthia Fooshe and Valerie Warren.

GO Week (Get Organized Week) - October 2002
After touring Shepherd's Door new facility which is currently under construction, members of the Oregon NAPO chapter spent the day helping the staff with some strategic planning for their opening which is scheduled for spring 2003. Shepherd's Door is a shelter for women and children which is expanding from a 3 bed facility to a 96 bed facility. This expansion provided the group with many organizing challenges.
